Treatments

If you are not sure if I can help you, here are my treatments and how I can support you through whatever your journey may be.

Counselling:

Anxiety
If you believe you are experiencing some of the following feelings, then you could be experiencing anxiety; feeling restless or on edge, being easily tired, difficulty concentrating or mind going blank, irritability, muscle tension, sleep disturbance (either difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep or restless unsatisfying sleep). I can offer you the support to come to terms with these feelings and provide guidance in understanding your anxiety, along with providing coping mechanisms personal to you.
Panic Attacks
If you believe you are experiencing some of the following feelings, then you could be experiencing panic attacks; pounding heart, shaking and sweating, difficulty breathing, chest pain, feeling sick or dizzy. These physical symptoms can be extremely frightening and can make you feel like you are dying. They can also trigger you avoiding situations. Through counselling we can establish what has triggered these and ways of coping.

Relationships
As humans, from the moment we are born to the moment we die, we make relationships. As a baby, a relationship is formed to ensure survival. As we grow, our relationships become important for our mental health so that we feel secure. However at any time these relationships can become damaging, as each persons perceptions and experiences are unique to them. If you are struggling to form beneficial and successful relationships,  counselling can help you work through this process.

Bereavement/Loss
The grief process is unique to each person and can depend on their background, culture and societies views. If you are struggling to find your way through this process, it may be that you would like some guidance through this difficult process. If you have had more than one loss this can then become complex grief which can make this process more difficult to navigate.

Self-Esteem & Confidence
Confidence is "being sure that you can do something, sure of your abilities". If you lack confidence, this can impact on you in all areas of your life. Self-esteem is where "you believe in yourself and what you can achieve". If you lack self-esteem, this can also impact on all areas of your life. If you believe something may have triggered your lack of self-esteem and confidence, we can work together to unpick this and put strategies in place to build yourself up again. However, sometimes you may feel a lack of self-esteem and confidence has always been a part of your personality, we can also work together to find coping strategies to also build yourself up again.

Physical Health
we all experience difficulties with our physical health from time to time throughout our lives some impact on us more than others. The journey through any physical health difficulties can be difficult and this may be the very time you need support from external sources.  Counselling can be that support to enable you to come to terms with the feelings that arise from your experience.

Children & Families
Over the last 28 years I have worked in a variety of childcare settings from Playgroups & Nurseries, Schools – both mainstream & special educational to Children’s Services where I worked with children and their families.  This work meant that I have worked with babies through to 18 year olds under a variety of circumstances.  The knowledge and skills that I have acquired over the years will enable me to offer a bespoke service to each child and or family. One area in particular is around attachment – all humans need to form attachments, to form relationships.  These attachments in early life go on to shape the way we form relationships in later life and can impact on our development psychologically.

Special Educational Needs
Over the years I have worked with children with a wide variety of needs – from children on the Autistic Spectrum, with Global Development Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome and many more. As a parent and a family you may find this diagnosis impacts in many different ways. You may find it helpful to work through any emotions presented during this journey. Coming to someone who understands the variety of needs and indeed the difficult process through diagnosis to schooling and beyond could ease your journey.

Hypnotherapy:

Weight Loss
Do you struggle with your weight? Do you find it difficult to not over-indulge? Do you find it hard to stick to your weight loss plan? This may be due to your sub-conscious preventing you. Hypnotherapy can help you by accessing your sub-conscious enabling changes to occur. However if you feel the problem is more deep rooted then using counselling can help you explore this so that you can move forward.
